animaaaal farmmm

Old Major uses rhetoric in his speech in a number of ways. His aim is to make the animals conscious of their situation and to convince them to overthrow humans. He uses tricolon, rhetorical questions and contrast to persuade the animals of utopian vision.

Rhetorical questions: they are used a lot in animal farm to express the speeches that the animal says. They also used rhetorical questions to make animals believe what he was saying was true. Overall when they make rhetorical questions they always has a answered to those questions.

Contrast: In animal farm, Old Major uses contrast to talk about humans. He says that humans are enemies from animal. That’s why is the 7 commandments. Those are: whatever goes upon on two legs is an enemy. Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friend. No animals shall wear clothes. No animals shall sleep in bed. No animals shall drink alcohol. No animals shall kill any other animal. And all animals are equal.
Tricolon: here they talk about 3 or more thing. Example: “to that horror we all must come – cows, pigs, hens, sheeps, everyone. Pg. 5.

  1. This work starts well and your accuracy in writing is starting to improve, well done.

Remember, when you are writing an essay use a strong topic sentence to start a paragraph, rather than a subheading or single word. And always use P.E.A - give an example (a quote) and then explain what that quote means and why Major said it. Also, your conclusion (where you summarise your main points to make them clear for the reader) is missing!

In your next post, pay attention to the structure of your writing.
